2nd Meeting of Research and Study Committee of A.F.K

 

At the 2nd meeting of research and study committee which was held in September / 04/ 2004 doping was the main subject of discussion and the following points were studied

Definition of doping:

 

Doping is:

1.     The use of an expedient (substance or method) which is potentially harmful to athletes’ health and/or capable of enhancing their performance, or

2.     The presence in the athlete’s body of a prohibited substance or evidence of the use there of or evidence of use of a prohibited method.

W.A.D.A describes doping: Doping is defined as the occurrence of one or more of the anti-doping rule violations set forth in Article 2.1 through Article 2.8 of the W.A.D.A code.

2.1   The presence of a prohibited substance or it is metabolites or markers in an athlete’s bodily specimen.

2.2    Use or attempted use of a prohibited substance or a prohibited method.

2.3   Refusing or failing without compelling justification, to submit to sample collection after notification as authorized in applicable anti-doping rules or other wise evading sample collection.

2.4   Violation of applicable requirements regarding athlete availability for out-of-competition testing including failure to provide required whereabouts information and missed tests which are declared based on reasonable rules.

2.5   Tampering, or attempting to tamper, with any part of doping control.

2.6   Possession of prohibited substances and methods.

2.7   Trafficking in any prohibited substance or prohibited method.

2.8   Administration or attempted administration of a prohibited substance    or prohibited method to any athlete, or assisting, encouraging, aiding, abetting, covering up or any other type of complicity involving an anti-doping rule violation or any attempted violation.

Prohibited list:

A.   STIMULANTS:

a)     amiphenazole, amphetamines, bromantan, caffeine, carphedon, cocaine, ephedrines, fencamfamin, mesocarb, pentetrazol, pipradrol, ... and related substances.

Use of this group is only allowed to inhaler to prevent and/or treat asthma and exercise-induced asthma.

 

B.    NARCOTICS:

Buprenorphine, dextromoramide, diamorphine(heroin), methadone, morphine, pentazocine, pentidine, hydrocodone, . . . and related substances.

Note: codeine, dextromethorphan, dextropropoxyphene, dihydrocodeine, diphenoxylate, ethylmorphine, pholcodine, propoxyphene and tramadol are permitted.

 

C.   ANABOLIC AGENTS:

1.Androgenic steroids;

               a) clostebol, fluoxymesterone, metandienone, metenolone,

nandrolone, 19-norandrostenediol, 19-norandrostenedione, oxandrolone, stanozolol, ... and related substances.

               b) androstenediol, androstenedione, dehydrotestosterone,  

                   testosterone, dihydroepiandrosterone(DHEA), ...and related   

                   substances.

     2.Other anabolics:

Clenbuterol, salbutamol

 

D.   DIURETICS:

Acetazolamide, bumetanide, chlortalidone, etacrynic acid, furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, mannitol, mersalyl, spironolactone, triamterene, ...and other related substances.

E.    PEPTIDE HORMONES, MIMETICS AND ANALOGUES:

In males:                              1. Chorionic gonadotropin (HCG)

                                             2. Pituitary and synthetic gonadotropins (LH)

In both sexes:                     1. Corticotrophins (ACTH), (tetra cosactide)

                                           2. Growth hormone (hGH)

                                           3. Insuline-like growth factor (IGF-1)

                                                4. Erythropoietin

                                                5. Insulin

         

     F.agents with anti-estrogenic activity

        Aromatase inhibitors, clomiphene, cyclotemil, tamoxiten these are  

        Prohibited only in males.

 

G.masking agents:

   Diuretics, epitestosterone, probenecid, plasma expanders (e.g.:   

   Hydroxyethyl starch) 

 

 

PROHIBITED METHODS:

1. Enhancement of oxygen transfer

2. Pharmacological, chemical and physical manipulation

3. Gene doping

 

AN ABSTRACT OF CLASSES OF PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES IN CERTAIN SPORTS:

A.   Alcohol 

B.    Cannabinoids

C.   Local anesthetics

D.   Glucocorticosteroids

E.    Beta-blockers

CAUTION: all of these prohibited substances and methods are not only prohibited ones.

Many substances that do not appear in this list are considered prohibited under the term “and related substances”.

Anabolic steroid agents:

The side effects of these drugs may be reversible or irreversible.

HEART AND CIRCULATION SYSTEM:

Arrhythmia

Salt and aqua obstruction

Hypertension, increasing blood volume, brain stroke, infarction, increasing blood fats

LIVER:

Liver disorder

Liver dysfunction

Liver cancer

(Jaundice) Icterus

Increasing liver enzymes

IN MALES:

Decreasing the number of sperms

Atrophy of testis

Decreasing sexual ability

Gynecomastia

Polyurea

 

IN FEMALES:

Hirsutism

Menstrual disorder

Balding

Acne

Hoarseness /changing of voice/

Atrophy of breasts

Prolactine-release inhabitations

 

IMMATURE BOYS:

Immature ossification of the epiphyses and stoppage of growth, extraordinary growth of hair, dark and colored skin

PSYCHOLOGIC:

Depress, stress, excitement, personality disorder, drug dependence, emotional instability

 

   

And also A.F.K wants to take doping test from the first champions of the first Asian championship competition and it was decided that also this test would be done if the medical committee recognize that this is necessary to take test from any athletes and none of them must be in opposition to.
